Watercolor Flower Card #2

Hi everyone! I tried a couple new techniques in making this card. I embossed the image with white embossing powder then colored the image with watercolor paint. I also used watercolor paint to create the light blue background. I distressed the around the edges of the layers with vintage photo distress ink

Even the cats got involved today. I filled a little dish with fresh water and Sandy drank half of it before I could get started. She then played with the rest of it which gave my image a nice wet base (ha ha).

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

Furry Friends

Hi everyone! With the new year comes new resolutions. One of my personal goals this year is to be more supportive of the local humane society. I've already registered to be a volunteer and offered our place as a foster home during the busy kitten season coming up and periodically bring them litter and cat food. I've always thought it would be nice though to use my card making to support them as well. Turns out they send lots of Thank You cards which is something I'm able to help out with.

I'm putting together a few Thank You cards now to bring them, one of which I'm sharing today.  The adorable puppy is the Scott rubber stamp by Great Impressions and the paw print is from the Woof Woof clear stamp set by Recollections.

Watercolor Flower Card #1

Hi everyone! This year I'm branching out and trying some new techniques with my card making. I don't know about you but I have a huge stash of unused product. My resolution for the new year is to learn how to use the plethora of stuff in my stash!

To get the most out of my stash I'm also challenging myself to see how many different ways I'm able to use one stamp. Today's card is the first in a mini series featuring the Watercolor Flower rubber stamp by Art Impressions.

Last weekend I picked up some pastels at a local art supply store.  They are really inexpensive.  I got 48 pastels for just $15.  I used this fun tutorial by The Frugal Crafter to create this card.

The Girls

Hi everyone!  I thought I'd share this really cute photo of the girls snuggling.  This morning it's a little warmer outside so they braved the chilly air and went out on our deck for some fresh air.

Thanks for stopping by... hope you have a purr-fect day!
